798 Zhang Yu’s Sculpture Museum

   The clay figurine Zhang established “Zhang Yu’s Sculpture Museum” in the 798 Art District of Beijing. The 798 Art District is a place gathering modern art galleries and museums, so it is comparatively rare to see a traditional art gallery there.

   Mr. Zhang Yu considers that traditional art doesn’t mean fixed language styles, but a means of emotion utterance. It is consistent to contemporary modern art when appreciated. Zhang Yu’s Sculpture Museum does not rest on art works, but on space exhibition. With traditional sculptures as its icon, it constructs a contemporary modern art space where there is communication and establishment of a new space.
